Be a seashell artist

See what colours, shapes and sizes you can collect and create a seashell masterpiece.
Shells can be found anywhere, but for the best examples, there’s really only one place to go: the beach!
Collect as many different types of shells as you can find. Use the sand as your canvas and make art using your shells, along with seaweed, sticks and other things you find on the beach. You can also take your shells home, clean them up and glue them to paper or card.
If you’re feeling scientific, why not make a seashell fact sheet and wow your friends with what you’ve learned.
By the way – never take big bags of shells from the beach. It’s illegal to remove quantities of materials (pebbles, sand, shells, etc.) from UK beaches.
